India’s Major Retail bank – State bank is also offering up to 0.25 % waiver of processing charges on SBI home loans of up to Rs 25 lakh and correspondingly on higher loan amounts.
Bank of India, Canara Bank, Corporation Bank and Bank of Baroda too have waived off processing charges on home loans. In August, SBI and Punjab National Bank trimmed their home loan rates, with SBI offering women borrowers an extra discount of 0.05 per cent. ICICI Bank and HDFC had earlier snipped home loan rates by 10-15 percentage points.
