Mahindra Thar.e (Electric): Launch Date, Technical Specifications
The Mahindra Thar.e is an electric SUV concept that was unveiled by Mahindra & Mahindra at the FutureScape event in South Africa on August 15, 2023. It is based on the INGLO-P1 platform and is designed to be a more rugged and off-road capable version of the Thar.
The Thar.e features a number of design elements that are different from the current Thar, including a more upright front fascia with squarish headlamps, a wider grille, and a raised hood. The SUV also has a more muscular stance thanks to its wider track and larger wheels.
In terms of dimensions, the Thar.e is expected to be slightly larger than the current Thar, with a wheelbase of 2,775-2,975 mm and a ground clearance of around 300 mm. It is also expected to be powered by a dual-motor all-wheel drive system.
Mahindra has not yet revealed any details about the Thar.e’s battery or range, but it is expected to offer a range of at least 250 km on a single charge. The SUV is also expected to be priced in the range of INR 15-20 lakhs.
The Thar.e is scheduled to go into production in 2025 and is expected to be launched in India in the same year. It will compete with the upcoming electric SUVs from Tata Motors and MG Motor.
